A vigorous and upright, suckering, deciduous shrub to 1.5m tall, with finely toothed, glossy leaves. In late summer and early autumn it produces short, dense spikes of fragrant pink flowers which emerge from darker pink buds; the flowers do not fade. Grow in a shady border or woodland garden
