A mat-forming, evergreen succulent producing small, compact rosettes to 6cm wide, densely packed with small, thick fleshy, yellowish-green leaves, the central leaves flushed dark red in summer. Tall spikes of starry pink flowers may be produced from mature rosettes that die off after flowering in summer and are replaced by new offsets
