A twining, herbaceous climber to around 3-4m in height, with oval to lance-shaped fleshy green foliage arranged in a spiral pattern on semi-evergreen dark purple stems. Very large, showy football-sized pink to orange-red flowers appear from late summer to autumn

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in humus-rich, well-drained soil in sun to part shade, ensuring shade for the roots and protection from frost. Cut back dead growth and flowered stems to ground level in autumn. Under glass grow in peat-free, loam-based compost in full light with shade from hot sun
