A vigorous but non-invasive, clump-forming bamboo with striped green and brown stems, maturing to dark purple to almost black, and fine, green foliage. It's thin foliage gives a feathered effect, making it ideal for pots and containers and lightly shaded areas of the garden

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, moisture retentive soil, for best variegation grow in partial shade or full shade. Suited to container cultivation. See bamboo cultivation for further advice
