A dwarf perennial bulb, to around 8cm high, with narrow, arching grey-green leaves. Nodding white flowers are produced in late winter, with a cylindrical yellow ovary, broad, curving outer petals, and inner petals marked with an upside down yellow 'u' shape at the tip
