A clump-forming, evergreen herbaceous perennial to around 15cm in height, with three-lobed, kidney-shaped dark green leaves with a faint blush of red to the edges. Single, multi-petalled lavender-blue flowers and a yellow centre appear from February to March

Cultivation
Grows well in humus-rich soils and thrives in heavier soils. Top dress annually in autumn with leaf mould. Resents root disturbance
