A cormous perennial, with narrow, strap-shaped basal leaves in spring. Loose clusters of funnel-shaped, violet blue flowers, with a darker blue stripe along the centre of each petal, are held on stems to around 45cm high in early summer

How to grow
Cultivation
In mild areas, may be planted out in light, fertile, sandy soil in full sun. In areas prone to severe frosts, provide winter protection, or grow in containers that can be moved indoors over winter. Water freely while in growth; keep almost dry while dormant
Propagation
Propagate by seed or by division, separating corms while the plants are dormant. Plants grown from seed may take 3-5 years to mature
