A compact, clump-forming, deciduous herbaceous perennial to 80cm with hairy, ovate bright green leaves which have dark burgundy red markings forming a horseshoe shape across the leaf. Upright spikes of small red flowers appear from summer through until the autumn. Suitable for smaller gardens or the front of a flower border
