A tuberous perennial, to around 10cm in height, with rounded dark green leaves, marbled with silvery grey, and with scalloped and toothed edges. Leaves are produced with or just after the flowers in autumn, and are scattered with pink hairs when opening, and are purplish beneath. Flowers are small, white and lightly scented, with swept back petals slightly fringed at the tips

How to Grow

Cultivation

Plant 5cm deep in moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Needs a dry site in summer, or grow under glass to protect from excessive summer moisture. See hardy cyclamen cultivation

Propagation

Propagate by seed sown in darkness as soon as ripe. Can be beneficial to soak seed for 10 hours prior to sowing
