A compact, hardy, deciduous, clump-forming perennial to around 50cm in height, with strap-shaped green leaves. An unusual variety with no petals, just singular ball-shaped cones of brownish purple-orange cones on short, sturdy stems like drumsticks, appearing from midsummer through until early autumn
