A small, clump-forming deciduous perennial to around 20cm in height, with narrow, variegated green foliage with yellow margins which turn more creamy-white as the season progresses. Upright, lavender-purple flowers appear on purple-red stems in summer. Planting in a location which gets morning or afternoon sun will give the best yellow colour in the margins
