A medium, clump-forming deciduous perennial to around 30cm in height, with heavily textured, glossy yellow foliage turning yellow-green in late summer and with slightly wavy edges. Upright stems of pale lavender-purple flowers appear in summer. Although this variety prefers a shady location, the colour will be at its best if exposed to some sunlight
