A mat-forming, evergreen succulent producing fairly solid clumps of brownish-red tipped, olive-green rosettes of fleshy but hard, short leaves. Their late winter and early spring colour is especially dark. Tall spikes of starry pink flowers produced from mature rosettes, die off after flowering in summer and are replaced by new offsets

Cultivation
