Trees
Deciduous, upright "coral-bark" maple about 3m tall, with striking dark coral-red twigs and leaf stalks and young leaves pale yellow-green, tinted red at the edges, the leaves becoming green in summer then yellow-gold in autumn, often flushed red. Inconspicuous hanging clusters of small, purple-red flowers in spring are followed by red-flushed, winged fruits
