A mat-forming, evergreen succulent producing fleshy rosettes, with spoon-shaped, grey-green leaves, covered with fine white hairs, the leaves flushed wine-red in spring and deep burgundy in summer. Tall spikes of starry pink flowers produced from mature rosettes, die off after flowering in summer and are replaced by new offsets
