A vigorous, mat-forming, evergreen perennial to 10cm tall, with fleshy stems bearing rosettes of brittle, silvery leaves. The foliage flushes red in full sun, and also when temperatures drop in autumn. In late summer it bears clusters of starry, pink flowers
