Compact growing, medium-sized (30-45cm) epiphytic orchid, with upright, 20-30cm long and 2-3cm wide leaves. New growth appears from the base of swollen stems - pseudobulbs. Oval-shaped, slightly flattened pseudobulbs are storage organs for water and nutrients. They are partially covered by a pair of green, leafed sheathts, Linear, fleshy, mid-green, evergreen leaves are borne in pair at the tip of each pseudobulb. New flowering stems arise from the axils of young, mature pseudobulbs and the leafed sheaths. Up to 12 flowers approximately 7cm across are carried on long, archig stem. Star-shaped, white flowers are marked with darker, pink-red or purplish, irregular spots, mainly around the centre of the flower.
