A semi-evergreen, creeping perennial forming a spreading mat of fleshy, rooting stems bearing rounded, hairy, bluntly-toothed dull green leaves. From late spring to early summer, clusters of small, yellow flowers are borne at the tips of reddish shoots surrounded by yellow-green bracts
