A semi-evergreen, upright, rhizomatous perennial producing stiff, erect, obovate, leathery, dark green leaves. Short, compact spikes bear dense clusters of nodding white flowers, occasionally flushed pink, in spring. Excellent as a cut flower and perfect for an alpine or rock garden
