N. siculum subsp. bulgaricum is an upright bulbous perennial to 1.2m tall, with narrow keeled leaves to 40cm long, and umbels of nodding green-tinged cream flowers with purple markings, in early summer, followed by erect seed capsules
N. siculum is a robust perennial with keeled basal leaves and a stem to 1.2m in height, with a terminal umbel of nodding, long-stalked, bell-shaped flowers combining cream, pink and green tints, followed by decorative, erect seed pods in late summer
A. tripedale is a bulbous perennial with linear, keeled basal leaves to 30cm long, which smell of garlic. In summer stout stems to 1m produce dense clusters of 20-30 bell-shaped, white flowers, often with pink markings
