Calming lavender bags
Use lavender you have grown in your garden to make this no-sew lavender bag. These can be sold to fundraise for new plants or equipment.

Preparation and equipment
Preparation
Collect some lavender stems just before the flowers open and hang up to dry (this will be in June - July).
You could buy dried lavender ready to use.
Equipment
- Pretty material
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Plant pot or other circular item for template
- Dried or fresh lavender flowers
Step by step
- Place the plant pot template on to your material and draw around it
- Cut out the circular shape with scissors
- If using your own lavender flowers, take ten flower sprigs and carefully pick off all the flower buds
- Place a dessert spoonful of lavender flowers in the centre of the material
- Gather the material around the lavender to make a pouch or bag
- Tightly tie the bag with a 15cm length of ribbon

- Lavender flowers in the summer. The flowers and leaves are strongly scented, containing aromatic oils that have a calming or sleep-inducing effect
