Self-guided school visits at RHS Garden Bridgewater

Schools can visit on an entirely self-guided basis or combine an education workshop with self-guided time in the garden. We have a wealth of resources to help plan your own outdoor learning activities

How to book a self-guided school visit to the garden

  • Book your self-guided school visit here
  • If you have any queries, please fill in our 'Contact us' form here
  • There is an outdoor picnic area in Woodland Play suitable for use by self-guided groups to eat lunches. Schools booking a self-guided visit only (i.e. one that does not include an education workshop) may pre-book an indoor lunchroom, subject to availability. Please email us to arrange after your booking is confirmed

  • We have a collection of self-guided resources (below) for teachers to use as part of their visit to the garden
  • Self-guided visits are suitable for school groups of up to 70 pupils. Larger groups are by arrangement only. Please email for information
  • Self-guided groups can take part in a free fifteen-minute seed planting activity led by a member of RHS staff, subject to availability. Please email us to arrange after your booking is confirmed

All pre-booked educational visits are free of charge. If you feel able to give a donation to the RHS to help support our educational work this would be much appreciated; we ask you to consider a donation of £3 per child for your visit.
