About the garden
The Château de la Bourdaisière spans 136 acres of enclosed grounds, where large, remarkable tree species thrive. A hotspot of biodiversity, this colourful nature laboratory was designed and created by Louis Albert de Broglie. The estate is home to the National Tomato Conservatory, which features a collection of more than 700 varieties officially recognised by the CCVS (Conservatoire des Collections Végétales spécialisées – Special Plants Collection Conservatory).
Highlights include a kitchen garden, cultivated organically using traditional market gardening techniques, and Le Dahliacolor, a contemporary garden showcasing more than 400 cultivars of dahlia, designed by landscaper Louis Benech. Visitors can also explore the new Deyrolle Anatomy Lessons exhibition, set in the park and cellars of the Château.
