About the garden

Owned by
Walsingham College (Yorkshire Properties) Ltd

The gardens lie on a steep hillside within the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The 24 acres of formal and woodland gardens rise up the hillside and command impressive views of Simon's Seat and Wharfedale.

The gardens comprise streamside woodland trails; a lake and dam; formal ponds and terraces, a rose garden and a natural limestone rock garden. There are also smaller interlinking gardens and orchards. A variety of soils (limestone and gritstone) means that acid-loving plants grow alongside limestone outcrops.
