About the garden

Picton Castle Gardens is a haven for plant enthusiasts, featuring 50 acres of gardens that surround a 700-year-old stately home. For horticulture lovers, the walled garden is a must-see, showcasing an eclectic range of plants. It also includes an adjacent fernery and water feature where you can sit and admire the carefully cultivated collection.

In the heritage courtyard garden, you can explore the history of the gardens, along with a herb and medicinal plant collection and a wildlife garden. The Peach House Garden highlights a variety of late-flowering perennials. Additionally, the jungle garden and boardwalk meander through towering gunnera, leading to an adventure playground and expansive woodland gardens. The rhododendron collection boasts numerous varieties bred at Picton Castle over the past 50 years.

Your visit also includes access to the castle. You can admire the exquisite décor, collection of books, array of antiques and art. In the Courtyard restaurant you can enjoy a Spanish-Welsh meal, visit the antique toy museum and learn about the site's history in the brand-new museum. For families, there is an adventure playground, family-friendly seasonal and nature trails, and geocaching activities, making it an ideal destination for all members of your family.
