About the garden
Nestled in a small valley, the garden lies at the foot of the village of Sasnières, in a setting protected from urbanisation. Rosamée Henrion’s curiosity, knowledge and love of trees and flowers make the Plessis Sasnières garden an interesting, rich, enlightened and natural place, where a subtle mix of intricate design and wild beauty offer a peaceful atmosphere.
Despite its large surface area – 22 acres, 8.6 of which are gardens – the Plessis Sasnières estate feels like a protected site. The garden is the result of an enthusiastic botanist’s work, with its thousands of flowers, trees and shrubs, some of which are over a hundred years old. The 16th-century pond and its natural springs enliven the garden.
