About the garden
Caerau Gardens is the highest garden open to the public in North Wales, a creative and ever-evolving space built by Toby and Stephanie Hickish since 1994. Originally developed using salvaged plants and structures from RHS Show Gardens, it now offers a rich mix of formal borders, a rose walk, vegetable plots, wildlife areas and a children’s play garden. Azaleas, rhododendrons and acres of planting provide seasonal colour, while varied spaces make it a garden full of surprises.
Caerau is designed for families as much as plant lovers. Children can explore with their own map and enjoy the woodland adventure area complete with a wooden fort, ropes, nets, an assault course and a zip wire. After exploring, visitors can relax in the café, where homemade food is served alongside hot drinks. Warm, welcoming and full of character, Caerau Gardens offers a unique blend of horticultural inspiration and old-fashioned outdoor fun.
