About the garden

For more than two decades, Dyffryn Fernant has evolved within the ancient landscape, overseen by the rocky tor of Garn Fawr. The garden draws its inspiration from its surroundings, nestled between the Preselli Hills and the rugged Pembrokeshire coastline.

Features include the walled Front Garden, showcasing seasonal container planting; the Rickyard display, where intersectional peonies and agapanthus contrast beautifully with structured topiary; the orchard, with its unique long herbaceous border leading to a species-rich marsh on the valley floor; the courtyard, a mix of exotic architectural foliage and succulents; and the lush bog garden, anchored by a mirrored obelisk.

Nicky’s Field, a geometric display of ornamental grasses within a natural meadow, slopes down to a large pond, with paths and seating areas in the woodland beyond. Visitors are invited to enjoy the well-stocked garden library with hot drinks available.
