About the garden

The Eden Project in Cornwall is one of the world’s most extraordinary gardens, transformed from a barren clay pit into a global icon of biodiversity and sustainable living. Since opening in 2001, its mission has been to inspire positive action for the planet through immersive experiences that reconnect people with nature. Visitors can explore vast outdoor landscapes rich in colour and wildlife before stepping inside the spectacular biomes, architectural marvels housing the lush rainforest and the fragrant Mediterranean gardens.

Beyond the planting, Eden is alive with interactive exhibits, contemporary art, and family-friendly activities, including Nature’s Playground and hands-on learning spaces. Cafés and restaurants serve fresh, responsibly sourced food, making it a place to pause as well as explore. For gardeners and plant enthusiasts, Eden offers world-class collections, innovative displays, and pioneering sustainable techniques, providing endless ideas to take home. More than a garden, it is a celebration of horticulture and a powerful reminder of the role plants play in shaping our future.
