About the garden
Radicepura, set between Mount Etna and the Mediterranean in Sicily, is a dynamic hub for horticulture and design. Spanning 12 acres, it hosts over 3,000 plant species and 7,000 cultivars, including rare palms, aromatic plants and medicinal herbs. The garden serves as a living archive for biodiversity and experimentation, attracting leading landscape architects and emerging designers to create permanent and temporary installations. Visitors follow a botanical path showcasing rare specimens such as Encephalartos, alongside gardens by renowned designers including François Abelanet, Paolo Pejrone and Andy Sturgeon, complemented by works from contemporary artists.
The site also features the historic Palmento, once used for winemaking, and a greenhouse housing tropical plants like Ravenala madagascariensis. Events throughout the year include conferences, concerts, workshops and masterclasses for professionals and enthusiasts, making Radicepura a centre for learning and creativity. With its blend of botanical richness, art and cultural programming, the garden offers an inspiring experience at the crossroads of nature and design.
