A variegated, evergreen shrub to about 1.5m, with fine, dark branches and small, leathery, dark green leaves with yellow margins; stems and leaf undersides covered in fine, silvery hairs. In late spring produces small, yellow, fragrant, star-shaped flowers, followed by shiny, red berries in autumn

Grow in well-drained soil in a sheltered position, such as next to a south-facing wall, or in the open in very mild areas. Best in full sun, though will tolerate partial shade
Propagate by basal semi-ripe cuttings in late summer or autumn
Pruning group 8; usually no pruning required, but will tolerate hard pruning to restrict size
Generally pest-free
May be susceptible to honey fungus in gardens where it is present but insufficient data to determine degree of susceptibility
