Dense, short, rounded and slow-growing shrub to around 1.5m in height, with deep green spiny leaves. These are distinctively shaped and larger than I. aquifolium cultivars. The white flowers are followed by large red berries which are borne sporadically if pollinated by a male holly cultivar
