A low, spreading cultivar, forming a dwarf cushion. The approximate growth rate is 5cm per year. Needles are bright green in spring, maturing to dark green. In ten years 'Green Carpet' will grow up to 60cm tall and 180cm wide. Numerous showy, purple cones are produced on the plant, contrasting with the foliage.
