'Owyhee Desert' is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial, up to 90cm high, with glaucous leaves and strongly-scented, ruffled flowers in early summer. Flowers have white standards while the white falls are bordered with pale yellow, edged in white, washed with chocolate brown and stippled with violet; beards are white and yellow

How to Grow

Cultivation

Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, and with the top surfaces of the rhizomes exposed so that they get baked in summer sun, which encourages flowering. See bearded iris cultivation
