A slow-growing, evergreen shrub to 1m, with an upright stem. It has whorls of sword-shaped, leathery leaves with a cream-coloured stripe down the centre of each leaf; when young they are pink-flushed. This cultivar is smaller and less spikey than the species and makes a good container plant

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in well-drained soil in full sun. In containers use a peat-free, loam-based potting compost with added extra grit. Water freely in growth and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly; water moderately at other times. See yucca cultivation for further advice

Propagate by seed sown at 18°C in spring, or remove rooted suckers in spring
