Snake-bark maple named for a past president of the RHS, a small, deciduous tree about 8-10m tall, with arching branches, green and white-streaked bark and glossy, extra-large, dark green leaves, that turn orange-yellow in autumn when pinkish-brown fruits are produced from racemes of pale yellow spring flowers
