Small, deciduous shrub to about 1.2m, with spreading, mound-forming branches and small, oval, mid-green leaves turning bright red in autumn. Small, short-stemmed, pink and white flowers are densely packed along the branches in late spring to early summer, followed by red fruit in autumn
