A strong-growing tender, upright or spreading evergreen small tree or shrub with narrow, oval, wavy-edged yellw to green leaves. Reaches a height of 1-5m. Insignificant flowers are greenish-red, and borne in clusters, in summer, sometimes followed by impressive winged fruit capsules on female plants that turn from green to vivid red over the season
