A deciduous shrub, up to around 2m high, with an upright habit spreading with age. New shoots are dark red, and leaves are finely toothed, green with irregular yellow-green edges that fade to cream. Clusters of pendent, bell-shaped creamy white flowers are produced from late spring to mid-summer
