A rounded, compact shrub with deciduous or semi-evergreen oval, dark green leaves to around 90cm (35in). In summer it bears numerous, branched clusters of small bright yellow flowers with prominent stamens. These are followed in autumn by yellow berries, which flush coral pink as they mature.
