Herbaceous Perennial Shrubs
A tender herbaceous perennial which may develop a woody base in time. It is grown in gardens for its lush foliage, although traditionally it is used for its excellent fibres called ramie. It has pairs of green leaves on long stalks, with pale undersides and crisply serrated margins. In summer, clusters of pale green nettle-like flowers develop.
