A tuberous-rooted perennial to about 1m, with mid-green foliage. Flowers 10cm across, produced from mid-summer to the first frost, have white petals with purplish-red tips, spreading towards the base as the flowers age. As the outer petals open the edges roll under, creating a sunburst effect

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in full sun, in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter and general-purpose fertiliser. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushy plants. Water freely in dry periods. Propagation

Propagate by softwood cuttings taken in spring from shoots from stored tubers, or divide the tubers, ensuring each section has at least one viable bud

Pruning
