Tilia endochrysea
A tall, decidous lightly rounded tree to about 20m tall, with broad to almost triangular, glossy 3-lobed dark green leaves, greyish-green beneath, to 15cm long, dark crimson-red when emerging in spring, turning gold in autumn. In summer, widely-branched clusters of up to 32 fragrant yellow flowers are borne on long stalks

How to grow
Cultivation
Suitable for parks and very large gardens. Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or part shade, with shelter from cold winds. For more advice see tree cultivation
Propagation
Propagate by seed, stratified in containers outdoors in spring. See propagate from seed (tree/shrub) or propagate by chip budding although care must be taken with the choice of rootstock
