Valeria Valkova Synonyms
Cattleya walkeriana var. alba
A white-flowering cultivar of this small-sized, tropical orchid; producing a clump of upright, spindle-shaped stems growing from a short, creeping rhizome. Each stem carries one oval, fleshy, firm leaf that lasts on a plant for couple of seasons. Each stem, also called a pseudobulb serves as the plants storage for water and nutrients. This species differs from other by the way the flowers emerge from the rhizome rather that tips of the pseudobulbs. Each white, long-lasting, fragrant flower is 9-12 cm across
