Deciduous tree of arching habit, about 8-10m tall, with greyish young stems. Older stems and trunk are green with conspicuous white streaking. Small 3-lobed green leaves splashed and speckled cream and white, turn bright red and yellow in autumn. Greenish-yellow spring flowers in upright racemes are followed by red winged autumn fruit
