A compact, deciduous small tree or large shrub with a more unusual angular, or 'v'-shaped, bushy habit and oval-shaped, glossy dark green foliage, turning bright red to orange in the autumn. White flowers (bracts) appear in late spring to early summer, followed by strawberry-like pink berries in the autumn
