A compact, summer squash cultivar growing to 60cm (2ft) high and 90cm (3ft) across, producing flattened, round squashes reminiscent of flying saucers, in white, yellow or green depending on variety. They have an excellent, nutty flavour and are best harvested at approximately 5-7cm (2-3in) in diameter, when they are very tender. The plant's compact habit makes it suitable for growing in containers on the patio, where border space is limited. The bright yellow flowers are attractive to pollinating insects and can also be picked and used in cooking.
