A mounding, evergreen perennial to 40cm high with leaves divided into ovate, scallop-edged leaflets. Foliage is a reddish-brown in autumn and winter with bronze tints in spring and shading to olive green in late spring and summer. Slender, tubular, lilac-pink flowers are borne on upright stems above the leaves in spring
