A clump-forming, spreading deciduous woodland herbaceous perennial to around 15cm. Fern-like, divided leaves are dark green to almost black. Pale, lemon yellow flowers appear in the spring. A hybrid of nemorosa (wood anemone) and ranunculoides (yellow anemone)
