A small, upright, slow-growing tree ultimately to about 3m in height and spread. The leaves have five, toothed, tapering lobes opening lime green, becoming yellow-green in summer with red-flushed edges and yellow-orange in autumn. Inconspicuous red flowers in spring are followed by red and green, winged fruit in autumn
